FAYETTEVILLE, AR—August 26, 2009—TheatreSquared (T2) kicks off its 2009/10 Season with the critically acclaimed comedy, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) directed by Morgan Hicks. Created by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, The Complete Works reveals the hilarious insanity that ensues when three young wise guys attempt to perform all 37 of the Bard's timeless classics—in just 90 minutes. Performances are scheduled Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 20, 2009 in the Studio Theater at Nadine Baum Studios (505 W. Spring St, Fayetteville). Tickets are $22 and can be purchased by calling the TheatreSquared Box Office at 479.521.2728 or by visiting the Theatre's website at theatresquared.org.
Following its smash hit premiere and multiple revivals at theatres around the world, The Complete Works at long last makes its professional debut in Northwest Arkansas. The 90-minute romp through Shakespeare's canon has been widely hailed by critics, called "irresistible" by the New York Times, "stupendous, anchorless joy" by The London Times and "the funniest show you are likely to see in your entire lifetime" by the Montreal Gazette.
TheatreSquared's new production of The Complete Works is staged by Morgan Hicks, T2 Director of Education and Program Development, who recently directed the Walton Arts Center and TheatreSquared co-production of Fully Committed (2009). The production features three local actors: Jim Goza, who returns to the stage in Fayetteville having most recently performed a leading role in T2 Associate Artistic Director Amy Herzberg's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (University Theater); Jordan Haynes, who has performed with Not-A-Penny Productions and studied at The Second City's school for improvisation in Chicago; and Liam Selvey, a professional juggler as well as actor, who recently appeared in the Boars Head Players production of Bleacher Bums.
The production team includes production supervisor David Pickens, a founding T2 company member; scenic designer Shawn Irish (multiple T2 productions including The Drawer Boy and My Father's War); lighting designer and technical director Steve Wilhelm (multiple T2 productions); and Ashley D. Cohea, beginning her third season as T2's resident stage manager.
During its three-week run from September 4-20, performances are scheduled Thursdays at 7:30; Fridays at 7:30; Saturdays at 2:00 and 7:30; and Sundays at 2:00. Tickets for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) are $22 and can be purchased by calling the TheatreSquared Box Office at 479.521.2728 or by visiting the Theatre's website at theatresquared.org.
