WHY Support T2
A unique, professional and accessible live theatre experience.
T2 productions are bold, original, and nationally acclaimed. T2's trademark intimacy at every show means that exceptional artists performing great works are literally feet away. Scripts are selected for quality of storytelling, including many which have never been performed—and might never be performed—in the state or region. Each play, whether contemporary, classic, or World Premiere, is newly envisioned and staged here in Northwest Arkansas, and can only be seen here. T2’s far-ranging “Lights Up!” for Access" program extends 10,000 free and reduced-price tickets to low-income community members, youth, and clients of non-profit organizations.
Education that inspires Arkansas youth.
More than 20,000 students and teachers take part in TheatreSquared productions, classroom workshops and training academies each year. Students attend from close to home and in schools throughout the state — from Fayetteville to Mena, Bentonville to Searcy, Southeast Missouri to the Arkansas Delta. Rigorous, empirical studies have demonstrated that watching a TheatreSquared performance is transformative for underserved kids.
A home for artists in Northwest Arkansas.
TheatreSquared is Arkansas’ largest employer of stage actors and theatre professionals. Directors, actors, and designers are compensated for their work on a national scale. Many are affiliated with professional unions, including Actors' Equity Association, United Scenic Artists, and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. T2 holds auditions throughout the year in NWA, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. Skilled local and national professionals spend months in residence at TheatreSquared — reimagining, rehearsing, and performing each work.
A true community space.
The Commons serves as an open-all day gathering space. T2 plays a key role in defining the region’s quality of life, and contributes more than $9 million to the local economy each year. T2’s new home is driving the national conversation on how space can be designed to support artistic work and create community. The building is architecturally significant, drives participation, and has immediately become a cultural landmark for the region. The company’s three-year vision asks the question, “How can a theatre be an agent of social change—helping foster a community that is fundamentally more equitable?”
