In spring of 2020,

TheatreSquared suspended performances along with the rest of the country’s—and world’s—performing arts venues. We heard quickly from teachers throughout the state that they were looking for content to keep their students, who’d been sent home with little noticed, engaged in learning and theatre..

More than 10,000 students—along with audience members who’d always wanted to know more about the people, ideas, and stage magic behind the scenes at TheatreSquared—tuned into our digital pop-up series, Play On.

TheatreSquared returned to live-streaming productions in June of 2020, and to live, in-person performances in spring of 2021. These videos are archived here as a continuing resource for the community—and a snapshot of the company’s first response at an unusual moment in time.
